Riyadh: We have no plans to host the World Cup

According to Fars news agency, contrary to the statements of the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia regarding the country’s intention to co-host the 2023 World Cup, another Saudi official denied these statements and said that an official request has not been sent to FIFA for this purpose.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Tourism of Saudi Arabia told Bloomberg: Saudi Arabia has not sent an official request to FIFA to host the World Cup.

Reports were published earlier that Saudi Arabia plans to jointly host the 2030 World Cup with Egypt and Greece.

The 2026 World Cup will be held jointly in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
