Russia’s Kermlov became president of the World Boxing Federation



According to IRNA; The World Boxing Federation’s meeting to elect the president and board of directors of this federation was held today, Saturday, on the sidelines of the Women’s World Championship, hosted by “Istanbul” in Turkey.

Hossein Thori, President of our country’s Boxing Federation and a member of the Board of Directors of the Asian Boxing Confederation, also attended the meeting.

Omar Kremlov from Russia and Boris Vander Worst from the Netherlands were candidates for the presidency of the World Boxing Federation, which Kremlov eventually became president of.

Boris Wonder Worst was another candidate for the presidency of the World Federation who was removed from the list of eligible candidates after being accused by congressional officials of campaigning outside the constituency and collaborating between candidates.

Elections for IBA board members are currently underway.

The election was scheduled to take place yesterday, but was postponed to today due to problems for Wonder Worst.
