According to IRNA, Seyed Reza Salehi Amiri, along with Nasrullah Sajjadi, advisor to the president, Peyman Fakhri, head of Iran’s convoy at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, and Farid Fattahian, director of international affairs of the National Olympic Committee, visited the Kurash national team camp at the National Olympic Academy.
Salehi Amiri said in this visit: I have no doubt that Kurash will have a big leap soon. The performance of this field is a proof of its conditions. Kurash had a brilliant performance in the previous Asian Games in Jakarta. I thank Nasiri Nejad, the president of the Kurash Association, for his hard work. Every time I talk to the president of the federation, Siddiqui, one of the issues he raises is paying attention to Kurash and allocating a separate budget to the field. Siddiqui has a bright future as a young boss, and I believe that both Kurash and Wushu can be the credentials of the convoy at the Asian Games. This is my heartfelt belief.
The head of the National Olympic Committee told the members of the national team: Do not worry about support. The Olympic Committee is with you, and if you do not talk about it, we will still be with these two disciplines. The Asian Games headquarters have good predictions and we hope that there will be a good shine in Hangzhou. The future belongs to those athletes, and shining in the Asian Games will change the course of Kurash.
The president of the Wushu Federation also stated: “Despite the spread of the new Corona strain and the conditions of the country, this is the seventh stage of the national team camp in which the nationalists are concentrated.” March is the last stage of the camp and at the same time as the last stage, we will hold the Kurash League after a three-year break. Also, the national team The national team will leave for Tajikistan on March 17 to participate in the Asian Championship.
Amir Sedighi, stating that the national team has won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals in the previous period, continued: “We hope to achieve good results with the support of the committee.” We hope for Kurash to shine, and I even defended the discipline in the meetings of the Executive Committee of the Olympic Committee in which I participated.
“We have good athletes in the women’s section and we are waiting for them to shine in Hangzhou,” she said. Kurash and Wushu have been helping the Iranian convoy, and we hope that with more support from the National Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sports, better conditions will be created. Of course, so far there has been good support from the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee.
Siddiqui pointed out: The men’s team camp in Tehran and the Kurash women’s team camp are currently being held in North Khorasan. Simultaneously with these two camps, the national women’s wushu team is also training at the National Wushu Academy. We hope for the brilliance of women. Also, over the past year or two, we have seen good support from the National Olympic Committee, which is a good thing.
Also, Khosrowyar, the secretary of the Kurash Association of the Wushu Federation, said: “The federation has good support for Kurash and has given us everything that is needed to prepare the nationals. We should thank Siddiqui and his colleagues in this regard.” We hope to respond well to these supports with good results. We are also happy that the Kurash Premier League will be held after three years.
In the end, Elias Ali Akbari stated: “We saw good support from the federation and the officials of the federation, especially Siddiqui, were sympathetic to follow the various issues of Kurash, which is to be thanked.”
The meeting was also attended by Qassem Bakhtiarian, Acting Secretary General, and Majid Maleki, Director of National Teams.
