Selected educational courses in Farsi language in Baladshu

In a situation where the country’s education system has been unable to meet skill needs, Startup have tried to use this disability as an opportunity. Many startups have entered the education market and each of them has covered a part of skills. One of the opportunities is the transfer of international knowledge to the country through dubbing and translation of educational courses of reputable institutions. Beldshu has paid attention to this issue and is trying to facilitate the translation and dubbing of foreign courses by creating a platform. The story of Baladshu can be heard from the words of Ehsan Islami, who has a long history in dubbing and manages dubbing in addition to other responsibilities in Baladshu.
How was Baladshu born?
know it He was born in May 1995. Ideas Baladshu came to the mind of Seyed Mustafa Mirqasmi, the director of Baladshu, who was looking for training courses related to a series of subjects on the Internet and when he did not find any Persian courses, he decided to use English language courses. However, he did not find a course that had a suitable dubbing or translation and had to use the original language courses and had to spend a lot of time understanding the language. It so happened that the idea of Baladshu was formed in the mind of Mr. Mirqasmi and after his plan, he and Mr. Saman Mohammadi were added to the team. Later, I was added to this team and Baladsu team was formed. At first, Mr. Mirqasmi managed the translation department, Mr. Mohammadi managed the website, and I took over the dubbing management due to my background in dubbing. Our team has expanded a lot since the beginning of the work and now, including translators and dubbers, the team size reaches 150 people.
What was the initial idea and how did it develop?
At first, we did the translation and dubbing traditionally, and we uploaded the first dubbed duh in November 1995 on the Beldshu site. It passed and passed until in May 1996, we went from Mashhad to Tehran by accepting the pre-acceleration course of TRIG UP. It was there that after hammering the idea, we realized that what we are pursuing is a traditional business and we need to improve it to make it scalable. This is how we decided to somehow mechanize the work of translation and dubbing, and by removing the limitation of recording in the studio, we made it possible to work remotely.
We have two stages Fundraising we have had The first stage took place in the Trig Up acceleration program, and we were able to attract funds from acquaintances and develop the work using these resources.
What are the features of the Beldshu platform?
After being accepted in the Trig Up acceleration period and its support, we started developing the translation and dubbing platform to become scalable and we succeeded. The translation platform does not translate itself, but it is an environment that helps the translator to translate faster and is compatible with dubbing.
The function of the translation platform is that after sending the video, its English subtitle is divided into different sections and boxes by the translation platform, and the translator translates each section. There is a limit to the number of words that the translator uses in each created section. Determining this limit according to our experience has been achieved through working with translators and dealing with Persian translations. It is possible that when the translator clicks on the boxes, the video related to the writings of the same box will be played. This feature has caused the translators to double their speed.
After translation, the course is transferred to the dubbing platform. In the dubbing platform, all the features of a voice recording software are available online, and translators can do the dubbing job using a simple microphone. Bladshu dubbing platform has the ability to automatically denoise the sound and provide a quality output by adjusting the volume and volume. This feature means that there is no need to record in the studio and we can easily have high-quality dubbing.
How do you choose which videos to translate?
We choose part of the videos ourselves and another part is suggested by users. Based on trends and content gaps, we select courses from sites like Lynda, Udemy and other reputable training sites. Another path that happens is selection by users or companies. They send us their desired video and we cooperate with them by receiving a fee or participating in the sale.
Do you have a similar foreign sample?
Baladshu’s dubbing platform has no foreign counterpart. Regarding the translation platform, there are similar things on the YouTube and Udemy websites, although they are not designed in such a way that their output can be used properly on the dubbing platform. In fact, these platforms are created to produce subtitles, but our platform outputs in accordance with the dubbing platform.
Do you have a plan to develop your product?
Our vision is to provide a wider use of the translation and dubbing platform because there is no language limit for the platform and it can support translation and dubbing from any language to another language. Due to this capacity, we plan to internationalize the platform. We are also planning to produce audio books using this platform and we will enter this field.
Have you ever faced a special challenge?
Our first challenge was whether the training videos we produced would sell or not. Due to the fact that we were new, we entrusted the sales of the courses to colleagues who had more experience in the field of selling educational videos. During this time, we were able to gain an understanding of the market capacity and evaluate different sales methods and their efficiency.
