On Sunday night, in the continuation of these competitions, Daniel Shahbakhsh in the weight of 60 kg competed against Monarbek Sitbek from Kyrgyzstan and won in all three rounds.
Daniel had a significant advantage over his opponent in all three rounds, and although Sitbeck intended to disrupt the focus of our country’s boxer, Shahbakhsh controlled the game well to prove his high quality boxing to the opponent with his explosive shots.
The Asian boxing runner-up reached the quarter-finals with this victory and will have to fight Edgar Skordelis from Lithuania in the top eight. Shahbakhsh had already won against opponents from Gambia and Mexico.
Then, in the 92kg category, “Storm Sharifi” faced Olympic and world champion Julius Cruz from Cuba, and was defeated and eliminated in a fight that had nothing to say. Sharifi had won his first fight against the Austrian representative.
On Monday, in the continuation of these competitions, Muslim Maghsoudi, Seyed Shahin Mousavi and Meysam Gheshlaghi will compete against their opponents and if they win, they will advance to the quarterfinals.
The Iranian national team has participated in the World Championships in Serbia with 10 boxers and led by Alireza Esteki.
