sharp; A startup in the field of remote sensing

Earlier, in an interview with Dr. Yazdani, the general manager of development BusinessBasic space, situation Startup We inquired about the space station. In the following, we are looking for a more detailed examination of these startups. In the first step, an interview with Mr Mr. Yaser Ashourzadeh One of the founders of the startup sharp we had. This startup, which operates in the field of remote sensing, considers the most important challenge facing it as the lack of proper recognition of the services of these startups by its target audience, which are often government organizations. In the following, we spoke with them to explain the status of their startup to us:

Introduce yourself and tell us about the experiences you had before starting to sharpen.

Hello, I am Yaser Ashourzadeh, the founder of Taizangar startup. My field of activity in the field of start-up is related to the year 2014, which started with the start-up Bursipa. A web application whose users could sell, exchange or donate their second-hand books by registering their location! Bursipa is the first web application for exchanging used and new books in Iran and currently has more than 2000 active users. This site is a single-page web application, which means that no refresh is done on the site!

Give us a brief introduction of your business.

I am a geomatics engineer and for that reason I am very interested in research in the fields of this science. In the winter of 1997, I thought about how to reduce the number of unhealthy days in Tehran’s air quality with the help of geomatics. By examining the satellite images of Tehran during 4 years and the analyzes carried out by the indicators of remote sensing science, I came to the conclusion that the type of vegetation has a great role in the air quality of Tehran in winter and it should be proportionate to the cultivation of evergreen trees in Tehran. Let’s pay the designated areas. In Farvardin 1998, as the dear people of several provinces were faced with the phenomenon of floods, the team of Taisnagar, using space technology and analysis of optical and radar satellite images, prepared flood zoning maps and issued the necessary reports and warnings according to the forecasts. It was prepared and sent to the governorates of the respective provinces with the help and support of Iran Space Organization. He also prepared comprehensive reports after the flood to estimate the damage to agricultural lands. After the flood, with the support of the Iran Space Organization, Taisnagar Startup took an official form and its core was established. Tisnagar startup in the fields of monitoring natural hazards such as floods and fires, air pollution, meteorology, preparation of land elevation model, control of land subsidence, preparation of images and reports for media and news agencies, monitoring of changes in the water area of wetlands and lakes, control and monitoring of oil pollution , monitoring and forecasting fires in pastures and forests, providing technical reports to farmers in the form of optimal water and fertilizer consumption patterns, controlling the change of agricultural land use, controlling and monitoring urban development, monitoring the status of forest vegetation, pastures and urban green spaces, etc. shows

How many people are the main members of the Tiznagar team and what are their specialties?

Two people! My wife and I, Mrs. Farinaz Taghizadeh, considering that we both studied in a specialized field (geomatic engineering). Of course, there are currently two of us, and due to the referral of work, especially in recent weeks, it should be added to our staff according to the suggestions of other experts.

How long did it take you to get to the initial version of the product?

Tisnagar startup with a platform called Samane Sahm (intelligent satellite monitoring system) participated in Alcomp 98 and this system was unveiled by Mr. Dr. Brari. The initial version of this platform was prepared by a programming team in 4 months and is currently being updated with 2 national projects.

Some think that basic space startups are closer to research work than operational work; Give your opinion about this.

Yes, the main nature of our products is research, and because science and economy are far apart in Iran, there may be a belief that it is not possible to create employment from research work. But on the other hand, one of the most money-making companies in the world are these startups in the field of space technology. Regarding Tiznagar, I must say that we are not a government and we work completely privately, but the Iranian Space Organization has played a significant role in introducing and branding us, and perhaps this is one of the best contributions of the government to startups.

What facilities did the Space Organization and affiliated companies provide you?

The Iran Space Organization has provided us with booths and facilities in recent exhibitions and has been of great help in introducing us to the public and organizations, and this has been one of the best facilities for us. With the foresight of Mr. Dr. Brari and even Mr. Azari Jahormi, Minister of Communications, I hope that the conditions of space technology startups will improve. Personally, I am not in favor of granting financial facilities to space startups, and in my opinion, in order to strengthen their infrastructure, projects with low amounts and without formalities can be referred to them.

Do you have non-governmental clients?

Unfortunately, the job market is not favorable due to the lack of comprehensive knowledge of the people and even the organizations that have an urgent need for remote sensing in order to properly manage the relevant issues, and for this reason, Taisnagar startup by offering free services is trying to attract farmers to provide useful services with High productivity in this field has had positive consequences for us so far. Most of Tezangar’s services are organizational or governmental, and in our term, we provide B2G services. We hope that during the negotiations and meetings held in the Iran Space Organization, a specific mechanism will be established to refer the organizational work to startups in the space field, and practically such scientific and specialized works will be handed over to the private sector, especially startups in the space field.

Tell us more about the new free service you’re offering to farmers.

In order to introduce the science of remote sensing and the applications of space technology, Taisnagar startup provides free services to the beloved farmers of the country in the form of controlling and providing solutions for irrigation consumption, controlling the quality of agricultural products, forecasting and estimating crop yields, optimizing fertilizer consumption for lands above 5 thousand meters. .

Do you have competitors?

Yes, our main competitors are government organizations! We hope that in the near future, the process of referring remote sensing work to the private sector, especially startups in the space field, will be provided!

Is there a successful foreign example for your business? Are they likely to enter the country’s market?

Exactly unlike Iran, there are many startups in the space technology field outside the country, and if there are no job referral mechanisms and local startups are not strengthened, there is a possibility that foreign startups will enter the country’s market.

Do you intend to attract capital?

no At the moment, we are not looking for capital and we are trying to develop the infrastructure of the company. But we have also had offers from abroad.

A cooperation memorandum has been signed between the Iran Space Organization and the Research and Technology Development Support Fund in the agricultural sector. Has this memorandum helped you in the agricultural sector?

not now. As I mentioned before, a new mechanism should be established to refer the work of space technology startups, whether organizational or extra-organizational.

What is your advice to the startups that are on your way?

That never comes without thinking, planning and expertise Startup ecosystem Do not become a country.
