Significant rise of Iranian taekwondo fighters in the Olympic rankings



According to IRNA; According to the announcement of the World Federation and calculating the points of the international tournaments of the Asian Clubs Cup, Fajr Cup and the World Federation Presidential Cup, our country’s taekwondo fighters climbed in different weights.

In the ranking announced by the World Federation and in the men’s group, Armin Hadipour, the representative of our country in the 58-kg weight category, remained in the eighth place with 55/30 points. Mohammad Sadegh Dehghani had a significant growth and stood in 35th place in the world with 61.40 points.

In the 68-kg weight category, Soroush Ahmadi, with the points he gained from the Tehran competitions, increased his total points to 146.60 and climbed to the seventh place with four steps compared to the previous month. Amir Mohammad Bakhshi also went to the 26th place with 74.86 points.

Mir Hashem Hosseini in the weight of -80 kg reached the 41st place with 56.56 points and 81 steps. Ali Eshkorian also climbed 18 steps with 55.84 points and reached the 42nd place.

Sajjad, a taekwondo man weighing 80+ kg, climbed to the ninth place with 142.85 points and four steps. Ali Ahmadi shone in the Tehran competitions and climbed 51 steps and reached the 38th place.

In the women’s group, Ghazal Soltani in the 49-kg weight category climbed 29 steps with 71.25 points and stood in the 33rd place. Negar Ismaili climbed to the 37th place with 67/20 points and 33 steps and Saeedeh Nasiri climbed to the 52nd place with 56.05 points and 86 steps.

In the 57-kg weight category, Nahid Kiani climbed to the 19th place with 101.93 points and 33 steps. Zahra Sheidaei reached the 37th place with 68/40 points and 13 steps.

In the 67-kg weight category, Melika Mir Hosseini climbed 13 steps with 107.40 points and was ranked 17th. Kowsar Asaseh climbed with 40/64 points and 43 steps and reached the 33rd place.

In the weight of +67 kg, Akram Khodabandeh climbed to the forty-fourth place with 41.93 points and 36 steps, and Zahra Pourasmail stood at the forty-eighth place with 37.05 points and 17 steps.
