Taekwondo World Championships Madanlu and Rezaei got to know their opponents on the first day of the competition

According to Fars news agency, the 26th World Taekwondo Championship will officially begin tomorrow, Monday, the 8th of June, at the 25,000-seat “Crystal” hall in Baku, hosted by the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In this tournament, 949 taekwondo athletes will compete in 16 weights (8 women’s weight + 8 men’s weight) for seven days. On the first day of the competition, taekwondo athletes weighing -57 kg for women and -68 kg for men will compete.

“Tina Madanlo” and “Metin Rezaei” will be the representatives of the Iranian national taekwondo team on the first day of the fights.

Based on the draw made in women’s -57 kg weight with the presence of 50 taekwondo players, Tina Madanlu will first face “Medina Mirabzalova” from Uzbekistan, and if her opponent wins, “Nada Laraj” will become the title taekwondo player from Morocco. On Madanlo’s side of the table are “Skyler Park”, a competitor with a Canadian name, and “Zongshi Lu” from China, who is the first person in the world ranking and the world gold of Mexico 2022.

73 taekwondo athletes have registered in the men’s -68 kg weight, which has been called the most trafficked weight of this tournament. Based on the draw at the top of the table, Mateen Rezaei will have to face “Raj Chauhan” from India first, and if he wins, he will fight against the winner of the fight between Sierra Leone and Brazil. On the side of Rezaei’s table is Xavier Perez Polo, a Spanish taekwondo player and the runner-up of the 2019 Manchester World Championships.

The national team of taekwondo in the women’s group is led by Mino Madah as the head coach and Mehrooz Sai as the coach.
