I am Mohammad Farhi Nejad, a graduate of the Ph.D. degree in Marketing, I am the founder of Tajeriar and I have had a background in IT and software for a long time.
Tell the merchant what need it fulfills.
In the field of commerce, there are complications such as the multitude of circulars, laws and their updates, which have led to this space being dumb and unknown to the general public. The high number of circulars and instructions in this field distorts the activities of commercial companies and manufacturing companies; Of course, at the international level, there are no worries and stresses regarding this amount of changes in laws, circulars, etc., but because the laws of our country are different, this need is felt to resolve the complexities. The Tajyar service is such that the audience raises their needs and the application intelligently provides relevant information according to the desired conditions.
The service of Tajyaryar is the calculation of input duties and taxes, which include different clauses such as: customs duties, Red Crescent duties, value added tax, etc. In addition, it provides the user with numerical calculations based on customs exchange rates, calculation of import and export statistics in different seasons and different countries, reports on official holidays of countries, working hours of other countries, etc. completely free of charge. Another topic is related to licenses and restrictions, so we have about 40 licensing organizations in Iran that complicate the issue of import and export, and Tajeryar’s intention is to make this path smoother.
It took about 6 months to reach our initial product. We launched the computing part of our service in the first 6 months and after that we entered all the circulars of the last 5 years in this area. The details are updated little by little according to the feedback from the users and we are still predicting the future path according to the inquiries and references.
How is your market?
We have no competitors either domestically or internationally; Because these complications are unique to Iran. Tajyar has a very powerful search engine that is familiar with all laws and circulars, which connects what is in the user’s mind with the circulars; Because the titles and phrases used in legal circulars are very different from the phrases people use; For example, in the international business environment of Iran, a toothbrush is defined by the word brush.
There are about 12,000 product lines that are marked with titles specific to trade literature; When you use the name of any marketable product, the assistant will guide you to the specialized tariff code of its trade area, and when you select that product, all the circulars, instructions, calculations of rights and customs duties of the product in question will be presented to you. This information is so complicated and there is so much traffic that not everyone knows it, and Tajeryar has solved all these problems and when you enter the name of the product you want, all the complex market information related to the product will be available to you. In customs, a section called the service desk provides people with the calculation of toll fees in exchange for receiving a relatively large amount of money, but Tajeriyar does this in real time and on the other hand, the Tajeriyar application is completely free.
How does the merchant service generate income for you?
Those who work in different fields are sure that people understand the value of their work. The trade and import space is also a lucrative space and people in this field will not have much challenge in the field of financial interactions if they encounter a good system. On the other hand, due to the free application and merchant system, our income method is indirect and we have chosen methods such as advertising as our income model.
What is the composition of your team?
Mr. Lajordi holds a doctorate in IT from Tarbiat Modares University, who manages the server department and works as an analyst at Tajeryar, the iOS department is managed by Amin Qainerlo and the Android department is managed by Amin Dari, both of whom are graduates of Tehran University’s computer department. Arman Rokni also works with us as a designer; Of course, different parts of the work rotate between people in different periods of time, and it is not the case that a part is entirely in the hands of one team member.
Considering the specialization of this field, how many users do you have?
The number of users in specialized fields may not be many, but no matter how many users they have, they all urgently need these services. Fortunately, despite the fact that the space is completely specialized, but we received many suggestions from users to improve the system and guided the system in those directions.
What challenges did you face?
With great effort and with the help of government organizations, we launched Tajeryar, but due to the problems that stand in the way of startups, especially startups in this field and not having a sponsor, this path was accompanied by a lot of fear and stress; On the other hand, the Tajeriar team is not present in one place in a coherent way, and this lack of access to each other has made it difficult for the team members to support each other.
One of our other challenges was the opposition of the traditional market and the union of customs brokers to this system, which were against its presentation because a series of costs, transportation, and intermediaries were eliminated by the merchant. Another of our challenges was to simplify the language of the application so that the user can easily use it, and we even asked a number of users to start working with its prototype to check the way the user interacts with the application.
Do you intend to attract investors in the near future?
So far, we have not attracted investors and we went ahead with personal expenses, although the empathy of the team members and their expertise has accelerated the progress of our work rather than the discussion of costs and capital. Until we feel the need, we don’t decide to attract investors and we try to proceed with minimum costs.
Advice to startups
It should be noted that in the current situation, there is absolutely room for the growth of startups, but we must know that we will not get anywhere just by sitting behind the system; Recently, the startup community has been well received by the people, and startups should enter the field to understand the real needs of the community and try to solve the problems.
