The US special representative claimed about this resolution: “The resolution of the United Nations Human Rights Council, which was supported by a large number of countries from around the world, was not a Western action, contrary to the claim of the Iranian government.”

Gatilov emphasized that such a decision was taken “purely in the background and with a political mindset” and its purpose is to make the Iranian authorities guilty simply because the West does not like them (Iranian authorities).

He emphasized: We consider this (resolution) illegal because such actions should be carried out with the permission of the country in question. In this particular case, no consultation or agreement on the establishment of such a mechanism with Iran has been carried out. All these measures are aimed at exerting political pressure on Iran.

According to him, the founders of this proposal should focus on their own country’s internal problems, because otherwise, “all these actions will be a clear example of double standards.”

Also, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a statement condemning the anti-Iranian resolution of the United Nations Human Rights Council, calling it an anti-Iranian action by a small group of Western countries and completely rejected.
