The brilliance of Iranian boxers in Kuwait competitions



According to IRNA, the first round of the international boxing tournament hosted by Kuwait in the men’s group, with the participation of 72 boxers from 22 countries, started on Thursday evening and will continue until the third day of August.

Iran has participated in this competition with 6 representatives, Mustafa Rigi in 51 kg weight, Bagher Faraji in 63.5 kg weight, Seyed Hossein Mirahmadi and Shahin Mousavi in ​​80 kg weight were the representatives of our country on the third day.

In Saturday night’s competition, Mustafa Rigi, the 51 kg weight representative of our country, fought with Ergunal Sabri from Bulgaria and with a 3-2 victory over his strong opponent, he advanced to the semi-final stage and secured his bronze medal. Rigi will face “Mansour Mubarak” from Kuwait in the semi-final stage.

In the weight of 63.5 kg, Baqir Faraji fought against “Mowa al-Khamiri” representing Yemen in his second match and defeated his opponent in a one-sided match to secure his bronze medal. In his first match, he managed to defeat “Hasan Al-Fathali” representing the host by 5-0. Yahya Sami from Iraq will be Faraji’s opponent in the semi-final match.

In the quarter-final match of 80 kg weight, Seyed Hossein Mirahmadi, our country’s boxer, was in the second fight against “William Rosnov” from Bulgaria, and in a spectacular match, he prevailed against his opponent and confirmed his bronze medal.

In the first match, he won against “Rakean al-Taghfi” from Saudi Arabia. Mirahmadi will fight with “Erkin Adilbek” from Kyrgyzstan in the semi-final match.

Shahin Mousavi, another representative of our country in this weight, won the first fight against “Rhamando Halimulati” from China and confirmed his bronze medal. Mousavi will meet Dilshodbek Rozmetov from Uzbekistan in the semi-final match.

Also, Sajjad Mohammadpour and Tofan Sharifi also advanced to the semi-final stage last night with their superiority over their competitors. In the semi-final stage of 57 kg weight, Mohammadpour will face “Saravat Sukset” from Thailand, and Tofan Sharifi will fight with “Dyorbek Uralov” from Uzbekistan in 92 kg weight.

The semi-final stage of the Kuwait tournament will be held (Sunday, August 2).
