Kikaus Saeedi represented the Olympic Committee and Mahmoud Khosravi-Ufa, the head of the Paralympic Committee, attended the forum.

Of the 62 members of the assembly, 57 were present, of which 6 were athletes, 2 were female and 1 male, and 4 were 4 female and 6 male coaches. In this forum, a competition was held between five candidates, Seyed Mohammad Poladgar, Mohammad Jamshidi, Hossein Hosseinzadeh, Sirus Rezaei and Hadi Saei, but the main competition was between Poladgar and Saei.

Meanwhile, Shokoohfar announced that he would not vote for the neutrality of the Ministry of Sports. Jamshidi, Hosseinzadeh and Rezaei also withdrew before the vote. At the end of the voting, Saei received 29 votes and became the chairman, and Poladgar also received 27 votes.

Poladgar has been the president of the Taekwondo Federation since 2000.

At first, Poladgar, as the first candidate, stated his plans for the members and said: “These days, Taekwondo was blackmailed and had a negative impact.” Many chanted the slogan of unity and empathy, but they themselves caused controversy. Our plans are clear and we did not face anyone.

Saei then presented his plans and said: “The potential of Taekwondo women is even greater than men.” Creating empathy in the big Taekwondo family is my most important program and I want to use everyone’s power. The Olympic champions should not be forgotten and Taekwondo should be abandoned.

Benjamin Shokouhfar, chairman of the Taekwondo Federation, said: “According to the change in the constitution, we have two stages of elections. The first is the president of the federation and the second is the members of the board, who are nominated by the president and elected by the members.”

The Deputy Minister of Sports asked the elected President about the changes in the proposed members of the Board of Directors, and Saei announced that despite the introduction of five people, the Vice President and the Treasurer will change.

Shokoohfar said: “The new constitution provided a new capacity and the process has become more democratic, and we hope that Saei will use this capacity.”

Following the meeting of the Electoral Assembly and according to the new articles of association, the members of the Board of Directors are elected by a majority vote of the members.

At the request of Saei, the first vice president and treasurer will be introduced in the future. Also, Ishrat Shah Mohammadi could not be elected as the second vice president with 26 votes.

Gholam Hassan Zolghadri was elected as a sports expert with 38 votes and Minoo Madah with 37 votes.

The first electoral assemblies of the sports federations of the Ministry of Sports and Youth of the 13th government began with the establishment of the electoral assembly of the Mountaineering Federation, and with the announcement of this sports institution, another election assembly is to be held.

However, out of the 2 constituencies that were announced at the time, the constituency of the Deaf Federation and the student council on December 26 have been postponed until now.

According to the Deputy Minister for the Development of Championship and Professional Sports, the elections of the Boxing Federation will be held on January 7, basketball on January 19, swimming on January 11, shooting on January 12, and skating on January 12.
