The federation is looking for an opponent for Marfawi’s students/ the national team manager’s special request from the clubs

In an interview with the sports reporter of Fars news agency, Afshin Nazmi, about the latest situation of the national youth football team of our country after the recent camp of Samad Marfawi’s students, said: the condition of the team is good. After the end of the recent camp, the new camp will start on January 23. We are going to go to Jordan on the 28th to hold two friendly matches. In Bahman, as we have a month until the start of the Asian Championship, we will form a new camp to get the players we want from the Premier League, the first division and other teams 25 days before the start of the tournament, and upon reaching harmony and harmony, let’s go to Uzbekistan.
Regarding whether the final camp of the national youth team is planned for a foreign camp or a friendly game, he said: We don’t have a foreign camp at that point because we don’t want the kids to get tired. That is why we have planned the internal camp. After finishing this camp, we will go to Uzbekistan in early March and we hope to return with our hands full from the Asian Championship. Thank God, the programs designed by Marfawi and his colleagues have been implemented so far. We have to thank Mehdi Taj, Mehdi Nabi, Hedayat Membini and Mirshad Majdi as the head of the youth committee who have come forward step by step. I hope that the efforts of these loved ones will be accompanied by our conclusion, so that everyone’s fatigue will go away.
Regarding whether a foreign team will come to Tehran for a friendly in our camp before the deployment, the head of the national youth team said: It is planned to bring a team to Iran. We have announced our plan to the federation to find a team from among the teams that are not in the same group and will not play Iran in the knockout stage and bring it to Tehran for a friendly match. The Football Federation has a good relationship with countries like Qatar and the UAE, but Qatar is in the same group as us and we cannot play with this team. For this reason, we have to go to opponents from East Asia. Definitely, if we advance from the group stage, we will face one of the teams from Japan, South Korea and China in the knockout stages.
Nazimi clarified: We will have a meeting with Majdi soon to see which countries we can play with. At least we should have a friendly game in the last camp. We will do our best to hold this game in Tehran and if a team does not come to Iran, maybe we will have a new plan. Syria and Iraq have asked us for a friendly game. Of course, it is possible that we will face Syria in the elimination stage and we cannot count on this team either. In general, the friendly game has not been decided for our final camp, but the outcome of the work will be determined in the next session.
Regarding the non-cooperation of some clubs with the national youth team, he said: We have a good interaction with some clubs. Although teams like Havadar and Foulad have interacted well with us, their player did not come to the camp in the recent camp. Of course, we should have all our players available for the friendly matches with Jordan and the final camp because it is a national issue and everyone should work hard to help the Iranian national team. So far, the management and staff of the youth team have tried to have a good interaction with the clubs. As some clubs have contacted us and requested us to release their players from the camp and hand them over to play for them. However, a number of clubs did not give us players for friendly games and foreign camps.
The head of the national youth team noted: The last camp is very fateful for us. I request all the clubs to understand this situation and provide us with all the players so that we can go out with pride in the Asian Games. Amin Hizbavi is the captain of the national youth team, but he did not participate in our last 2 camps. If this cooperation does not take place, the federation itself must enter. Of course, I am confident that the same way the clubs cooperated with us in the qualifying games and CAFFA, they will do the same in the upcoming camp.
