According to IRNA, with the decision of the World Karate Federation Board of Directors, the first World Championship in the team division will be held in 2024, hosted by Spain.
This decision was taken after the successful holding of Karate One Serie A in January 2022 in Pamplona, Spain.
At the meeting of the World Karate Federation’s Board of Directors, Spinoz, President of the World Karate Federation, stated: With the new strategic plan of the WKF, we guarantee that the World Championships will grow even more in terms of competitive advantage and spectacle.
Before this, team competitions were held during the individual fights of the world championship, and the Iranian team won three consecutive championship titles.
