
According to Mehr News Agency, Iran’s sixth finalist in the World Union Ranking Tournament hosted by Croatia won the fourth gold medal for the Iranian freestyle wrestling team by winning the match that the opponent had withdrawn from.
In the weight of 125 kg, Amir Hossein Zare defeated Milan Korsog from Hungary with the result of 11:0 in the first round. In the next round and in the quarter-final stage, he defeated Kamil Kosiolek from Poland with a score of 10-0 and made it to the semi-final stage.
At this stage, Zare defeated Daniel Ligeti from Hungary with a score of 9:2 and qualified for the finals.
In the final match, our country’s national team should have faced Georgi Meshvildishvili from Azerbaijan, but this wrestler refused to face Zare and our country’s wrestler became the champion.
Before this, Hassan Yazdani, Reza Atari and Ali Sawadkohi won three gold medals for the national freestyle wrestling team of Iran.
