According to the Mehr news agency, the Asian Volleyball Confederation changed the date of the 2022 Asian Games volleyball tournament in China at the suggestion of the president of the Iranian Volleyball Federation. According to the calendar announced by the World Volleyball Federation and the Asian Volleyball Confederation, the Iranian national volleyball team will participate in three important events next year in the Nations League, the World Men’s Championship and the 2022 Asian Games in China.
Previously, the Asian Men’s volleyball tournament was scheduled to take place from August 19 to 31, with the first two days (August 19 and 20) coinciding with the final two days of the World Men’s Championship in Russia.
At the Central Asian Summit, Mohammad Reza Davarzani, President of the Volleyball Federation, suggested to the President of the Asian Volleyball Confederation that the date of the Asian Volleyball Men’s volleyball tournament be changed due to the time interval between the two World Cups and the Asian Games. After the refereeing follow-up and negotiations with the relevant officials of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, the Secretary General of the Asian Volleyball Confederation, Shanrit, sent a letter to the referee announcing that the men’s volleyball tournament of the Asian Games will be held from September 17 to October 20.
Thus, in 1401, the Iranian men’s volleyball team will participate in the preliminary stage from June 6 to October 2, and in case of advancing to the final stage of the 2022 Nations League.
Iran’s national volleyball team will travel to Poland after the League of Nations if Iran’s participation in the Wagner Cup (August 27-29) is finalized, and then participate in the World Men’s Volleyball Championship (September 4th to 20th) in Russia.
Six days after the final of the Men’s World Championship, the Men’s Volleyball Tournament of the Asian Games will begin on September 17th. Due to the importance of winning the gold medal in these games, the Iranian Men’s national volleyball team will participate in these competitions with all its might.
It should be noted that the women’s volleyball tournament of the 2022 Asian Games in China will be held from 17 to 25 September.
