According to IRNA; On Thursday night, following the Iraqi Peace and Friendship Cup, our national judo team defeated the Iraqi national team in team competitions and in the finals of these competitions, and finally won the championship.
The names of the people present in the finals of the team competitions are as follows:
Weight 66 kg: Hamidreza Papi, weight 73 kg: Mohammad Sedighi, weight 81 kg: Mehdi Fathipour, weight 90 kg: Qasem Baghchaghi and weight 100 + kg: Hamidreza Malekzadeh
To reach the final of this competition, our national judo team, after gaining two victories against its opponents, succeeded in beating the Iraqi national team in the final and winning the championship.
The medal ceremony was attended by the Minister of Sports, the President of the National Olympic Committee and the President of the Iraqi Judo Federation.
Previously, in individual competitions, our national judo team had won one gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
At the end of these battles, the present teams hold a joint camp for a week. Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey, Jordan, Kuwait, Syria and Libya were the teams participating in the tournament, which is now training together.
