According to the Mehr correspondent, the national football teams of Iran and South Korea will meet in the third qualifying round of the Qatar World Cup at Azadi Stadium on Tuesday at 5:00 PM.
The Football Federation of Iran had long ago announced that it intends to hold this game with the presence of 7 to 10 thousand spectators and in compliance with health protocols, but in the end this was not possible and the game will be played without the presence of spectators.
Hassan Kamranifar, Acting Secretary General of the Football Federation, said yesterday that the federation had sent its letter to the Asian Football Confederation and FIFA on time and even earlier to get the spectators’ permission, and that there was no problem with the federation.
Kamranifar said yesterday in response to the news of the absence of spectators in Tuesday’s match that FIFA will announce its final answer today (Sunday).
The Football Federation has previously stated that it will not be possible to use the Assistant Video Referee (VAR) in this match and the VAR will be used offline against South Korea. In fact, it is not possible to review the scenes and change the referee’s opinion in suspicious cases.
