In that year, Iran faced the Kuwaiti national team in the final and was able to leave the field with one goal in front of 100,000 spectators of Azadi Piroz Stadium and win the championship title.
The interesting thing is that since that year, the Iranian national team has not even reached the finals of these competitions. They reached the semi-finals in 2019, but lost to Japan and were eliminated from the competition.
