According to the Mehr correspondent, these competitions started today with the presence of nearly 400 wrestlers in the form of 32 teams from different provinces of the country in the 6,000-seat Ghadir Hall in Urmia, and wrestlers will compete in ten different weights.
These competitions are held for three days, with the weight of 65 kg with 41 wrestlers having the most participants and the weight of 48 kg with 34 wrestlers having the least participants.
In these competitions, there are two teams from West Azerbaijan with the names of West Azerbaijan team and Urmia team with 15 wrestlers and 5 companions in each team.
“Majid Turkan” the head coach and “Masoud Vahedi” one of the members of the technical committee of the national youth freestyle wrestling team are present in Urmia to select the selected members for the national team and the best people of each weight are to be selected as team A and the second and third people Will be selected as Team B.
The teams of Tehran, Mazandaran and West Azerbaijan are the contenders for this period of competitions and the wrestlers of the province have participated in the competitions with full preparation and regular training before the beginning of the competitions and are ready to get the best result.
The country’s junior wrestling competitions will also be held at Masjed Soleyman, and West Azerbaijan will also take part in the competitions.
The national junior championship freestyle wrestling competitions are being held in Ghadir Hall in Urmia on the occasion of the Fajr decade.
Mohsen Soorian is leading the national youth wrestling team and Majid Turkan is leading the national youth freestyle wrestling team.
Previously, the country’s junior freestyle wrestling championships were to be hosted by the holy city of Mashhad, but the competitions were canceled due to the special conditions of Corona.
