The need to maintain unity in the national karate team

According to IRNA; The 25th edition of the World Karate Championships will start on Tuesday, November 16th, hosted by the UAE and in Dubai.
Shortly afterwards, the Asian Championships will be held in Kazakhstan so that Iranian karate can advance two important events.
Accordingly, the selection matches of the men’s national team were held yesterday (Saturday) in the Shahid Kabkanian Hall in Tehran, which was accompanied by protests from several prominent figures regarding the refereeing.
At first, Amir Mehdizadeh was the holder of two world gold medals, but after three defeats in the weight category minus 67 kg, he left the hall in protest of the referees and refused to continue the competition.
In heavyweight, the sensitive struggles of Sajjad Ganjzadeh, the gold medalist of the Tokyo Olympics, and Saleh Abazari were not without margins, and both of them protested against the delay in announcing the judges’ vote, and finally Ganjzadeh left the hall. Of the three games played, Ganjzadeh won the first fight, but Abazari won two consecutive fights.
Now the technical staff of the national team is thinking of making a decision on heavyweight after holding a meeting with the officials of the federation.
It is possible that Ganjzadeh will be the Iranian heavyweight representative in the world and Abazari will go on the tatami in the team committee. Abazari is also likely to represent Kazakhstan in the 84kg plus weight class.
Regardless of any decision that is made, it is expected that the unity and friendship that has been the key to the success of the national karate team over the past few years will not be lost.
The Iranian team led by “Shahram Heravi” has been the first pole of karate in Asia and the world in recent years and now everyone is waiting for the fourth consecutive gold in the team committee of world and continental competitions.
Respecting the coach and accepting decisions can be the best choice to continue the success of the Iranian men’s national karate team.
