According to the Mehr News Agency and quoted by the Wrestling Federation, Rahman Amozad and Kamran Ghasempour, the 65- and 92-kilogram national freestyle wrestlers of Iran, attended the press conference before the competition to participate in the American World Cup.
In this regard, Rahman Amouzad pointed out that he is not looking for a record in this tournament and said: I just want to be my best and win medals. The greatest pleasure for me is to make the hearts of the people of my country happy.
In response to the question of who is his main competitor in the World Cup, he said: I can be my own competitor.
In the continuation of this meeting, Kamran Qasimpour also said about changing his weight: I will wrestle in whatever weight the technical staff has an opinion and I will gladly accept the opinion of the technical staff.
He added: In the past, I stayed behind the line for some reasons, but in 2021, I wrestled in a higher weight and was able to become the national team of my country in the World Championships. In my first appearance at 92 kg weight, I showed good wrestling. This is what made me stay at this weight. I will wrestle at the same weight this year.
The world freestyle wrestling champion emphasized that he has not yet decided on his Olympic weight, and the Olympic year will decide which weight he will participate in according to the conditions.
The Freestyle Wrestling World Cup will be held on December 19 and 20, hosted by Iowa USA, and 6 teams from Iran, America, Japan, Georgia, Mongolia and the world team will participate in this competition.
