The presence of the Minister of Sports at the Tennis Federation/Sajjadi: This field is the front line of our international work in sports

According to Fars News Agency, during this visit, the Minister of Sports and Youth together with the head of the Tennis Federation visited various departments of this federation. Sajjadi then attended the meeting hall of the tennis federation and informed about Iran’s future hosting of the Tehran Futures tournament. The tournament that is going to be hosted by Iran after eight years.

The Minister of Sports and Youth emphasized the full support of this ministry in Iran’s hosting of these competitions. In a part of this meeting, a clip of Sajjadi’s participation in the Kish Futures tournament in 2005 was broadcast.

In this meeting, the Minister of Sports and Youth honored the organizers of Futures Kish competitions by presenting a plaque. Kaveh Ahmadi, Acting Minister of the Ministry of Sports and Youth, was present in this visit.

During this visit to the federation, Sajjadi said: I considered it my duty to appreciate you for your efforts for the Kish Futures tournament. Hard work is ahead. The corona era caused a lot of damage to human societies and strange things happened. The Asian Games are scheduled to be held one year late, and everything was affected by Corona, and the statistics and competitions were changed. One of these disciplines was tennis, but due to the fact that the games were held outdoors, the events were held earlier.

He continued: Good statistics have been formed in tennis. I am speaking as an Iranian and I would like Futures to stay in Iran. The report we had about Kish was very high quality and I hope Tehran Futures will be better than Kish. I hope Futures Tehran will complement it and we will be at the top of Asian tennis and have good promotions and quality. If we want a field to open its place in the country, we should take advantage of these opportunities. As your servant in the Ministry of Sports and Youth, I am with tennis. Every Iranian has the right to enjoy tennis. Our structure should be at the disposal of the tennis federation.

Sajjadi added: The Tennis Federation is going to have a collection that will be an independent, exclusive and specialized place where you can stand on your own feet. There are good resources and we try to do the job. All of this depends on having a good audience, good athletes and coaches, and the prices are reasonable and the facilities are available. We don’t want to think that tennis is a sport for a certain group. We in the ministry are planning so that sports are not expensive. Our efforts are based on this and it depends on the performance of me and our colleagues in the country’s sports. A transformative event in sports must take place. We wrote to the federations not to raise the coaching and refereeing fees. Last week, new license price tariffs were announced; Tariffs that had not changed for about 9 years. Experts had calculated 1,600,000 Tomans, but we announced 800,000 Tomans and 400,000 Tomans have been considered for its extension. This amount is the lowest figure in issuing work permits in the country. The most expensive tariffs for sports fields in government places are 700 thousand tomans in 12 sessions. Tariffs were approved by the cabinet and the spirit is that we keep sports cheap.

In the end, the Minister of Sports and Youth said: We told the development company to call the private sector and ask why the tariffs are expensive. If the private sector intends to increase the price, it should be logical and not to say that because everything has become expensive, the tariffs have also become expensive. This argument is not logical. I hope that we will all be successful together and that tennis will continue to shine and the best things will happen. This field is at the forefront of our international work in sports, and we appreciate these efforts.
