Some critics of the wrestling federation linked Hasan Yazdani’s absence from the team sent to America and his absence from the national team camp to the sidelines of the welcoming ceremony for the national team when they returned from the world championships and the controversial interview of Yazdani’s father. Some other wrestling fans also called technical reasons, including the priority of sending youths to the World Cup, the main reason for the absence of Yazdani and several other Iranian wrestling stars in the World Cup team.
Anyway, these statements caused the technical staff of our country’s freestyle wrestling team to react to these doubts and explain the reasons for not sending Yazdani to the World Cup.
In this regard, Ehsan Amini, one of the coaches of the national freestyle wrestling team, said: Hassan Yazdani is the national capital of Iranian wrestling, and the goal of the technical staff is to preserve this capital for the upcoming important competitions. In addition, according to Yazdani’s age and according to the selection cycle of the national team, he must appear in an international tournament in February or March, and for this reason, the technical staff decided not to put extra pressure on Yazdani. Also, he talked to us and requested that he should not attend this camp due to personal matters, and the technical staff agreed to his request.
He added: “The interesting thing is that the Americans, like us, have rested David Taylor, the traditional and long-standing rival of Yazdani.” Next year, we have the World Championships and the Asian Games ahead of us. Also, in the Olympic weights, we have to look at the second team, and for this reason, we will use Alireza Karimi, who is the holder of 3 world medals and had a good return to the scene in the Islamic countries’ games, in the World Cup, so that it will be a serious test for him.
In the end, Amini emphasized on sending a young and promising team with the aim of supporting the World Cup and said: The main view of the technical staff is the World Championships. 2023 Serbia and the Olympics 2024 It is Paris.
