Based on this, according to the calendar of the wrestling federation, the first stage of the selection cycle will start on the 28th to 30th of December with the establishment of the country’s championship fights in the Shahada Hall of the Seventh Tir of Tehran.
This is while some contenders of the national freestyle wrestling team are exempted from participating in this stage and only those contenders who intend to change weight should participate in the national championship. Of course, in this case, we should mention Amir Mohammad Yazdani, the runner-up in the 65 kg weight class, who must start his work from the selection cycle in order to participate in the 70 kg weight class.
In this way, the other medal winners of the 2022 World Championships in Serbia are exempted from participating in the first stage of the selection cycle, according to which Rahman Amouzad and Kamran Qasimpour as the champions of the 65 and 92 kg weights of the World Championships, Reza Atari, Mohammad Nakhudi and Hassan Yazdani in the weights of 61, 79 and 86 kg world silver medalists and Younis Emami and Amirhossein Zare in 74 and 125 kg weights will not participate in the national championship due to winning the world bronze medal.
Of course, according to the opinion of the national team’s staff, Ali Sawadkohi and Amir Ali Azarpira have been added to the group of contenders exempted from the first stage of the cycle due to their good performance in international competitions.
According to the reporter of Mehr, except for these people who are exempted from these competitions according to the technical approvals and with the opinion of the technical staff, all the contenders must participate in the country’s champion competitions and their absence will be accompanied by removal from the 2023 selection cycle.
