
According to IRNA, the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in all age groups started on Saturday, November 6, with the participation of 1,700 athletes from 75 countries in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and today, on the third day of the competition, in the under-21 age group style fight, Mohammad Mehdi Rostamian, the representative of our country, won the silver medal, and three representatives of our country withdrew from the competition.
In today’s competition, Mohammad Mahdi Rostamian won the silver medal in the weight of +94 kg in his group of five, defeating representatives from Greece and Indonesia and defeating competitors from Colombia and Iraq, and won the first medal of our country.
Also, in the weight of -77 kg, Behrad Radkhah defeated his opponent from Kazakhstan in the first match, but in the second match, he withdrew from the tournament after losing to the opponent from Montenegro. Another representative of our country, Ghaem Goderzi, in the weight of -77 kg, ended his career with two defeats against opponents from Italy and Hungary.
In the weight of -85 kg, Ilya Mohsenpour ended his career with a defeat against competitors from Montenegro and Greece. In the continuation of the competition, Rasam Ahmadi Misri Dashti and Abolfazl Nowrozi will compete with their rivals in the style fight of the under-18 age group tomorrow (Tuesday – November 10). Also, on the first day of the competition and in the age category of Mr. 2, Alireza Davoudi won the gold medal in the weight of -77 kg with an advantage over competitors from Romania, Azerbaijan and Greece.
