He added: “I tried very hard to win this medal.” After winning the silver medal at the Asian Championships, I was not able to achieve my goals at the Tokyo Olympics, but with the guidance of the national team coach, I was motivated to win the World Cup in Serbia, which fortunately came to fruition.
Shahbakhsh continued: “In these few years, it has been proven that Iranian boxers are no less than their opponents.” They go to many competitions and have many joint camps, which we do not have, but we are technically on par with the best.
Regarding the injustices that took place in this event, the young boxer of our country said: “I think that in Meysam Gheshlaghi’s fight with an opponent from Belarus, everyone witnessed injustices.” The staff really had a special account on the winter and he deserved to win the medal.
The boxer continued: “From now on, I’m thinking about the Hangzhou Asian Games. Success in these competitions can be a way to reach the Olympic medal. Believe me, Iranian boxing can also go on the podium in the Olympics and win medals.
Regarding his injury, Shahbakhsh said: “I was very motivated to attend the semi-final match and reach the final, but my injury rate was very high and the doctors announced that my optic nerve was in danger and I should not play.”
