He said: In that meeting, I mentioned the performance of the Japanese team and told them that we should put the work done by this team at the top of our list. Japan is now a contender in the world, and in the League of Nations this year, it went on the platform for the first time. In my opinion, the Iranian Volleyball Federation should set the example of the Japanese team, they hired a volleyball coach and theoretician and are using him. In the meeting, all the members expressed their opinions, but in the end, the federation must make a decision and whatever happens will be in the interest of Iranian volleyball.
The former captain of the national team said: I hope that the best option will be chosen among the options that have been proposed. Anyway, Iranian volleyball is not in a good condition right now and this team needs a coach who can manage well and everything will end up in favor of volleyball. Volleyball in the world is progressing every day, so those who have connections with the world should come to Iranian volleyball and be able to play friendly games with well-known and good teams. We need a top foreign coach to achieve these goals in volleyball.
Nadi emphasized: Iranian volleyball needs a coach like Velasco who has connections with the world. During his time, Iranian volleyball changed, and if we want this to happen again, we must hire a coach at that level. During Velasco’s time, the national team could easily play friendly games with other countries, which all goes back to Velasco’s knowledge in world volleyball. I hope that good things will happen to the national team in any case.
