Will the Saudi-Emirati gang wake up to exclude Iranian teams from the “Elite League” / Football Federation?

According to Fars News Agency, the Asian Football Confederation last week held a crucial meeting with the presence of Mehdi Taj, former president of our country’s football federation as the current vice president of AFC to make the most important decision in the history of Asian football to generate more revenue for the old continent.
The most important decision of the AFC Executive Committee was to create a new league in Asian football called the “Elite League”, which is almost a copy of the “European Super League” project. The difference is that the Europa League project was planned by Real, Juventus and Barcelona and was a kind of coup against UEFA, but the “Elite League” project in Asia was proposed by AFC President Sheikh Salman himself to improve the income of the continent’s top clubs. .
The main point in last week’s meeting was that Fars News Agency had previously addressed this issue and talked about the Iranian Football Federation being left without a seat in this huge project. (You can read here). At last week’s meeting, representatives of the federations of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Uzbekistan decided to form a working group to decide on West Asian clubs in the “Elite League”. Iran did not have a seat in this working group to decide the future of the money of Iranian clubs in the hands of the Saudis and the Emirati people.
But new reports from Asian football suggest that the FIFA’s inaction seems to have reached a point where the AFC has decided to hold an “Elite League” without the presence of Iranian clubs.
Iran, as one of the powers of Asian football, should undoubtedly have a place in the elite league, and along with Saudi Arabia in West Asia, it is considered as the center of Asian football. But Mehdi Taj’s shortcomings and only physical presence at the AFC meeting seem to make Iranian clubs suffer a major blow to revenue in Asian football.
According to Al-Ittihad, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has appointed four designated federations (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Uzbekistan) to form the “Elite League”.
The Emirati prestigious publication further claimed: In the “Elite League” there are only clubs that have been professional football leagues from the beginning. There are 4 prestigious leagues in the western part of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Uzbekistan. It is unlikely that the AFC will include clubs from other West Asian leagues in the Elite League.
With this claim, the Emirati publication has sounded the alarm for our country’s big football clubs, namely Esteghlal, Persepolis, Sepahan, Traktor and other teams. If the Emirati media claims come true, Iranian clubs will undoubtedly be deprived of a rich source of income.
The exclusion of Iranian clubs from participating in the “Elite League” will undoubtedly jeopardize the financial future of these clubs. Especially since Esteghlal and Persepolis clubs are suffering from financial problems and their presence in the Asian Super League will solve most of their problems. But it seems that the negligence of the Football Federation has initially left Iran without a seat, and in the future, Iranian clubs may be deprived of the income of this newly established league.
