In the weight of 74 kg, Hossein Abu Zari defeated Tobias Portmanin from Switzerland in the first round with a result of 11:0. In the next round, he defeated Vadim Kurylenko from Ukraine with a score of 8-0. In the quarter-final stage, Hossein Abu-Zari won against Younis Emami with the result 4-4 and went to the semi-final stage.

Hossein Abuzari won 10-3 with Gadzhiev from Azerbaijan in head-to-head and advanced to the finals.
