Worried about the invasion of “bedbugs” in the Paris Olympics

According to Fars news agency, Paris hotels are equipping themselves against bed bugs on the eve of the Olympic Games that will be held this summer. According to Le Parisien newspaper, exterminators in the French capital are now using sniffer dogs to inspect rooms. Hoteliers do their best to keep their rooms free of insects.

Sebastian Pizzocaro, head of the hoteliers’ union, said that hotels don’t want negative publicity with bedbug photos on the booking platform, so they have organized a preventive check of their rooms.

According to him, the initial influx can be detected before the arrival of large waves of tourists.

The outbreak of bed bugs last year greatly worried the people of France. People reported bed bugs in trains, cinemas and other places. Officials recently announced that the prevalence of bed bugs in France has actually increased in recent years. Between 2017 and 2022, about 11% of French households were affected by bed bugs.
