106 works in the 42nd dawn of Simorgh

According to Fars news agency, Simon Simonian, director of the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival, announced: During the one-month opportunity to register films in the festival system, which lasted until the end of November, the producers of 106 films submitted their applications to participate in the section. Sodai Simorgh (Iranian Cinema Competition) has registered the 42nd festival.

Director of the secretariat of the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival, referring to the special presence of the first filmmakers in this period of the festival, said: 51 registered works belong to the first filmmakers, who are applying to participate in the festival along with the famous filmmakers.

Simonian announced the compliance of the registered works with the regulations by the festival secretariat and stated: Films eligible for participation will be reviewed by the selection board after sending the copies.

He continued: The selection committee of the national section competition will start reviewing the films applying for participation on December 15th, and by December 15th, they will announce the names of the selected films to participate in the Iranian cinema competition section of the 42nd Fajr International Film Festival.

Simonian requested the owners of the applicant’s works to deliver the revised version to the festival secretariat no later than December 15, according to the announced schedule.

The report of the international section of the festival will be announced later.

The 42nd Fajr International Film Festival will be held from 12 to 22 Bahman this year under the direction of Mojtaba Amini.
