Hosseini stated that these imports from Iraq were from the place of blocked money in Iraq, and said: in exchange for a part of the blocked money in Iraq, this country has exported some basic goods such as wheat and soy to Iran.

He said: “Importing goods from Iraq means that trade is not one-sided and Iraq also benefits from establishing trade relations with Iran, and this will help develop trade relations between the two countries, so I hope this issue will continue in the coming months.”

A member of the board of the Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber stated: 320,000 tons of goods imported from Iraq are related to wheat and some are related to soybeans and other basic goods.

He added that due to some internal problems in production, gas and electricity exports to Iraq have been restricted.
