168 million Tomans were paid in damages to those who died in traffic accidents


According to the financial news report According to Isna, in order to protect the victims of accidents caused by vehicles, according to Article 21 of the “Compulsory insurance law for damages caused to third parties due to accidents caused by vehicles” (approved in 2015), bodily damages caused to third parties which cannot be paid for the following reasons, will be compensated by an independent fund called “Physical Damage Fund”:

1) Lack or expiration of the insurance policy

2) Cancellation of the insurance contract

3) Failure to identify the vehicle that caused the accident

4) Deficit in the insurance policy coverage due to the increase in the amount of Riyal payment

5) Suspension or cancellation of the license of the insurance company. 6) Issuance of a suspension order or bankruptcy of the insurer (the subject of Article 22 of this law).

7) In general, physical damages outside the legal obligations of the insurer according to the provisions of this law (with the exception of the cases specified in Article 17)

In the meantime, the investigation of the performance of the Bodily Damage Fund in paying damages indicates that the amount of damages paid by the Bodily Damage Fund increased from 1930 billion Tomans in 2019 to about 3659 billion Tomans in 1400, which has increased by 1.9 times.

In addition, the share of payment of damages to the deceased was 50.4% and the share of payment to the injured was 49.6%.

Also, the average compensation paid during this year is 168,200,000 tomans for each deceased and 90,000,000 tomans for each injured, which has increased on average (for the total number of deaths and injuries) compared to the previous year and reached 117,500,000. It has reached one thousand tomans, which has grown by 41.9%.
