17 million tourists visited Saudi Arabia in 7 months

According to the Arya Heritage Report, Fahad Hamiduddin, Executive Director of the Saudi Arabia Tourism Organization, said at the recent tourism conference in Riyadh: We expect to surpass this figure in the second half of the year.

He added: About 8 million visitors came to Saudi Arabia in the first quarter of this year, which is twice more than expected. The number of Muslims who entered this country to perform Umrah or Minor Pilgrimage in the first three months of the year has reached 4.1 million people.

Saudi Arabia plans to welcome 25 million foreign tourists this year.

In recent years, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has offered a range of facilities to attract more foreign tourists to the country as it seeks to diversify its oil-reliant economy.

This facility includes the issuance of tourist visas upon arrival or online for citizens of several different countries.

In July, Saudi Arabia launched an electronic business visit visa, called the “Visitor Investor Visa,” aimed at facilitating the travel of foreigners to the country to explore investment opportunities there.

Saudi citizens can apply for a visa to invite their friends abroad to visit this country and perform Umrah.

Saudi Arabia has also issued a stopover transit visa that allows its holder to perform Umrah, visit the Prophet’s Mosque and participate in various events across the country. The four-day transit visa is valid for 90 days.
