4 cases of Iran were identified for registration in UNESCO

According to Moj News Agency, Deputy Ali Darabi Cultural heritage, tourism and handicrafts Iran issued an order to the managers of four Iranian files for the global registration of four Iranian files in UNESCO.

Among them are “Iranian mosques”, “Iranian castles”, “Iranian houses and cultural landscape of Masuleh” and “Asman castle and Khoramabad valley”. In separate decrees, Abdul Rasool Watan Dost was appointed as the director of the world registry of “Iran’s Mosque” and Mohammad Hassan Talebian as the director of the world registry of “Forts of Iran”.

The registration of Iran’s historical monuments in UNESCO began in 1367, but it was neglected until 1371 due to the imposed war. This made Iran 24 years behind the world record. To make up for this delay, the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts started a series of items such as Iranian caravanserais in 1402 and Iranian mosques and houses.

Mostafa Pourali was appointed as the manager of the “Iranian houses and cultural landscape of Masoleh” case. This year, this case was raised in the 45th UNESCO World Heritage Committee, but due to the opposition of ICOMOS, it did not receive the vote for UNESCO’s world registration and was “postponed” at the suggestion of the member states. This means that Iran has been given a second chance to address ICOMUS’ objections and send the unlimited quota to UNESCO for review.

Ata Hasanpour was elected as the manager of the “Flak Al-Aflak Castle and Khorram Abad Valley” case.

Darabi called for detailed planning to remove the obstacles to the global registration of these files and to compile their final studies to be sent at the appointed time.

The managers of the files have been instructed to collect these files with the help of another group of experts and finalize them in the World Registration Council headed by the vice president of cultural heritage.
