750,000 tons of essential goods are being cleared from Imam Port


According to Fars news agency, Alireza Moghdisi, the head of Iran’s customs, explained the latest situation of import of basic goods in a joint meeting with representatives of the first vice president and officials of organizations involved in trade at Imam Khomeini Port.

The Director General of Iran Customs said in this meeting: With the measures taken by Iran Customs and the facilities provided, 750,000 tons of basic goods are being cleared from Imam Khomeini Port customs, of which 250,000 tons have been cleared from customs in the last 2 days. And the rest of it will be released after providing permission from the related organizations and securing its entry rights.

The Director General of Iran Customs pointed to 4 customs measures to facilitate and speed up the clearance of basic goods from customs and added: using the capacity of Article 42 of the Customs Affairs Law, Article 6 of the Customs Affairs Law, credit and percentage clearance of goods, among the measures and facilities provided customs to speed up the clearance of essential goods.

Moghdisi explained: Using the capacity of Article 42 of the Customs Affairs Law, upon the request of the minister of the relevant department, the customs will clear the goods without charging entry fees and for a period of one month. He said: Also, using the capacity of Article 6 of the Customs Affairs Law, the customs Regarding the clearance of goods without charging entry fees, he will take action for government agencies until 15th of February.

In this meeting, the head of Iranian customs stressed the importance of clearing essential goods as soon as possible and added: In addition to the facilities provided, Iranian customs is fully prepared to speed up the customs formalities of essential goods as much as possible around the clock.
