91.2% of the checks issued in July 1402 were collected


According to Iran EconomistCentral Bank published the latest status of exchange checks in July. According to this report, in the mentioned period, nearly 7,800,000 checks worth about 482,000 billion Tomans were exchanged in the whole country.

Compared to the previous month, the amount of exchange checks in July this year shows a decrease of 1.6% in terms of number and 4.1% in terms of amount. During this period, Tehran had the largest share in the amount of exchanged checks with 2.5 million checks worth 236 thousand billion Tomans.

Examining the situation of exchange checks in the past year (July 1401 to July 1402) shows that the number of collection checks has grown by half a percentage point. Of course, the amount of collection checks in the past year was 87.3%, which means 2.3% growth.

Also, the number of bounced checks decreased during the stated time period and has reached 8.8% in July this year from 9.3% in 1402. Meanwhile, the amount of checks has grown and reached 12.7% from 10.4%.

Seven million checks were collected

In July of this year, out of seven million and 800 thousand issued checks, seven million and 100 thousand were collected with a value of 421 thousand billion tomans, which means 91.2% of the number of checks and 87.3% of the amount of the checks were collected.

In the mentioned period, the number and amount of collected checks decreased by 2.1% in terms of number and 5.3% in terms of amount compared to the previous month (June).

The provinces of Gilan, Kermanshah, Alborz, Khuzestan, Golestan and Mazandaran had the highest number of collected checks in July 1402.

680,000 checks were not collected in July

In the first month of this summer, 681,000 checks worth 61,000 billion Tomans were returned in the whole country. That is, 8.8% of the total number of issued checks were not collected. The number of returned checks in this period has grown by 3.4% in terms of number and 4.5% in terms of value compared to the previous month.

Kurdistan, North Khorasan and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad had the highest rate of returned checks in the whole country. In the capital, 207,000 checks worth 25,000 billion Tomans were not collected.
