A drone strike on the US consulate in Erbil

According to Fars News Agency’s International Group, the “Saberin News” telegram channel reported this evening (Wednesday) that the military section of the US Consulate in Erbil has been targeted.

The US consulate in the “insurgency” area of ​​Erbil was targeted by a drone, Saberin News reported. However, the source added that safe areas were targeted near the UAE consulate, which is a few kilometers from the US consulate building under construction.

At the same time, a Kurdish security source reported the sound of several explosions near Erbil International Airport. Al-Mayadin and Al-Ahd networks each confirmed the attack in a separate report.

Saberin News added that after the attack, smoke rose into the sky and Kurdish forces imposed curfews on the site.

Moments later, Reuters quoted a security source as saying that the US consulate in Erbil, Iraq, had been targeted by a drone.
