According to IRNA, the members of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC) in their meeting on Monday local time, unanimously elected Ms. Lashzara Asuwa as the head of this council for one year without voting.

This female diplomat will head the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations from July 2022 to 2023.

Since for the upcoming one-year period, the chairmanship of Ecosoc will go to the geographical group of Eastern Europe according to the annual rotation, this female diplomat from Bulgaria was elected as the chairman of the council.

The vice-chairmen of Ekosuk were also elected from Zimbabwe, Indonesia and Italy without voting and by introducing the relevant geographical groups, respectively from Africa, Asia-Pacific and Western Europe.

Regarding the election of a vice president from the Latin American and Caribbean group, due to the presence of two candidates and only one seat, the competition was between the countries of Chile and Belize, which ended in favor of Chile with 30 votes against 21 votes. Found.
