A first look inside the MacBook Air M2

Apple plans to launch the MacBook Air M2 on July 15. But before this device is officially released, pictures of its interior have been released. These images help us to see the inside of this device. At first glance, we notice the basic and structural differences between MacBook Air M2 and MacBook Pro M2. The main difference between these two devices is that the MacBook Pro is equipped with a cooling fan, while the new MacBook Air cools passively without a fan; Just like the MacBook Air M1.

MacBook Air M2, without cooling fan…

The images in question were published by 9to5Mac and show a MacBook Air M2 without a bezel. The first thing that is clear from this picture is the passive cooling of this device without a fan; Just like the previous generation. Instead of a cooling fan, there is a heat sink inside this device that covers the M2 chip and its surrounding components. But to what extent this cooling system can remove the heat produced by this device, it is not yet clear and we have to wait until the start of the supply of this device to see its real performance.

Another difference between MacBook Air M2 and the previous generation is the location of the speakers. In the previous generation – as well as the MacBook Pro – the speakers were located next to the keyboard, but in the new generation MacBook Air, the speakers have been moved under the hinge of the display and the upper part of the keyboard. This change can reduce the sound quality of this device, which will not be pleasant for users considering the amount of changes in the design of this device. Another thing about this device is its battery. The battery of this device has three parts and in the middle is the trackpad of the device, just like the other models of the MacBook family.

The published images are related to a MacBook Air M2 in Midnight color. As the sender of the images claims, the Midnight color is more “navy” than black, contrary to the expectations of users. While seeing the images released by Apple, we all expected to meet a black MacBook. Of course, this claim may be due to the special lighting conditions of the shooting environment. However, we’ll have to wait until the official launch of the MacBook Air M2 before we can comment on everything for sure.
