A look at the animation “Passenger from Ganorama”; Brilliant in heroism

Fars News Agency – Cinema Group: In recent years, Iranian cinema has witnessed the production of various animations, which shows that the field of animation is not only less than other parts of the world in terms of technical and human resources, but also has the ability to be present in international markets. The speed of growth and success of Iranian animations in the last 10 years shows that the activists in this field are ambitious and capable, and if they are supported, they can produce works equal to foreign animations.

After the success of the animations “Dolphin Boy”, “Lupto” and “Smart Kid”, these days the animation “Passenger from Ganorama” is on the cinema screen. Perhaps a head and neck higher, “Passenger from Ganorama” boldly goes to aliens to use this strong potential with high imagination to convey its valuable messages, in fact, most children and teenagers have a world full of imagination in which They give way to otherworldly beings. This animation is based on the imagination of teenagers and tries to convey positive messages by creating an exciting atmosphere.

As Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Alamdar – the writer and producer of “Traveler from Ganorama” says: “Animation has passed years and entered the arena from an experimental field. Friends laid the rails for us in the 80s. Naturally, in the two decades of the formation of Iranian cinematic animation, more work was done on technique and technique. Currently, I, the filmmaker, can have consistency and focus on meaning and content because the technique is now resolved. “Now we can talk about hero education, which is extremely important in children’s cinema and animation.”

The story of “Traveler from Ganora”

“Passenger from Ganorama” is the story of three boys with different spirits and even with different ethnicities and dialects who finally come together to achieve a goal. Sohail, Sattar and Omid enter an adventure with aliens. Sattar’s father, who is a hard-working Afghan cleaner, encounters a strange object while working. Sattar shows it to Sohail and Omid, but they don’t know what it is. Until a space called Samander enters the earth and lands right in Sohail’s room. He tells Sohail that their queen, Lady Raspina, is missing from the earth and that strange object can reveal the lady’s place. Samander promises Sohail to cure his disability in return for his help. The boys go through many dangers and challenges together with Samander and fight against the Varunas who were the queen’s enemies.

Success in making heroes

The main protagonist of Sohail’s story is a disabled boy in a wheelchair. Choosing the main hero with this feature is one of the admirable and bold points of the filmmaker. Many children’s audiences may be faced with the concept of disability and its limitations for the first time when they see Sohail on a wheelchair, limitations that, with the filmmaker’s vigilance in the story process, are not an obstacle to Sohail’s growth. Like all children, Sohail has both good and bad qualities, sometimes he makes mistakes, sometimes he becomes stubborn and irrational and breaks the hearts of those around him, and sometimes he stands patiently and bravely in front of problems. These features make the child’s audience identify with him. The sweet Kurdish accent of Sohail and his mother and aunt and the colorful local clothes worn by Sohail’s kind and caring mother succeed in introducing the pleasant face of the Kurds.

On the other hand, by choosing Sattar from an Afghan family, the filmmaker is trying to teach the child to avoid judgment and humiliation in the middle of all the hopes as a wealthy and humorous Tehrani boy with Sattar and that all human beings are equal to each other regardless of ethnicity and race. . Sattar respects his father very much, remember that he answers his father’s phone in the middle of the fight with the aliens so that he doesn’t worry a little. The famous dialogue “John Pedre Kajasti” reminds the audience of the bitter events in this country and the compulsion of immigrants to emigrate. What Sohail and Sattar have in common is that they are victims of imposed wars. A point that the filmmaker expresses well and in simple language with some impressive flashbacks from Sattar’s childhood and the American attack on Afghanistan on the one hand and the chemical bombing of Kurdish areas in the war imposed by Iraq on the other hand.

The brilliant end of the story

The creators of this animation advance their story well to bring the audience to their desired conclusion. Sohail, whose door and wall are full of posters of Western heroes such as Super Man and…., in the end, finds out that he does not need supernatural powers to become a hero and solve problems, he willingly wears the space suit that Samander gave him The data disfigures the body because it comes to the conclusion that a great and supernatural power has an effect on the human brain and mind and leads him to actions against morality and humanity; Let’s remember the sequence where Sohail wanted to destroy the Varunas out of revenge and Omid prevented him from doing so.

At the end of the story, the audience of children and teenagers together with Sohail comes to the conclusion that the real hero is the one who has intellectual and creative mental strength, not arm strength. The final sequence of the film is undoubtedly a believable result of the story, where Sohail, with the help of Omid and Sattar, tears the posters of Pushali’s superheroes and slams the poster of the martyred scientist Masoud Alimohammadi, along with Iranian elites such as Professor Hasabi and Maryam Mirzakhani, on the wall. Although it should be said that this conclusion is also understandable for the second age group of elementary school and later.

Tips that Ikash was not

Along with its admirable points and valuable content, “Passenger from Ganorama” has its weaknesses like any work. The most important point is that the age rating must be determined to watch the animation; Because the atmosphere and story of “Passenger from Ganorama” is not the same as animations such as “Dolphin Boy”, “Lupto” and “Smart Kid” which can be seen by any age. The strange appearance of aliens and the battle scenes between Sohail and his friends with aliens can cause fear for preschoolers and negatively affect their morale, and the content of the animation will not be understandable for children under 7 years old. The animation tried to portray a positive mother-child relationship, but there was no need for Sohail’s mother to blame herself for Sohail’s disability in such a way, when in the story it is told from the words of Aunt Hana that many children with disabilities are the result of Saddam’s chemical bombing. have became.

“Traveler from Ganora” on the one hand, by using different dialects, repeatedly points out that the story takes place in Iran, but on the other hand, the music clip that is played in the middle of the story in the language of Samandar about the pollution of the earth is similar to western clips and rapping and is in harmony with It does not have Iranian culture. I wish the correct themes that were expressed in this clip as the only clip of the story were also in the form of, for example, a local song.
In the end, it should be said that in terms of story and content, and even the entertaining and exciting aspect, the animation “Passenger from Ganorama” is considered a step forward in the animation cinema, which can follow the footsteps of exciting foreign animations and can appeal to both children and teenagers as well as adults. Join him in an exciting and passionate battle with aliens.
