A look at the best games of Mehrdad Sediqian; From fragility to rebellion

One of the actors who appeared in “Lion’s Skin” was Mehrdad Sedigiyan; A young but experienced actor who has seen his brilliance (especially in movies) and now he has added another success to his portfolio with “Lion Skin”.

Charso Press: What are the features of the series? Lion’s skin The quality of the games was widely appreciated by critics and audiences. Almost all the key actors of the film shined in their roles and this played an important role in increasing the quality of this collection. One of the actors who appeared in “Lion’s Skin” Mehrdad Sediqian Was; A young but experienced actor who has seen his brilliance (especially in movies) and now he has added another success to his portfolio with “Lion Skin”.

On the occasion of Siddiquian’s brilliance in Lion’s skin We have taken a look at his best roles.

Night Bus (Kyomarth Pourahmad, 2006)

Sediqian, who first appeared in 2004 with the movie “Friday Evening” (Mona Zendi) was introduced to Iranian cinema and showed off his abilities, he quickly established his position as a rising star by shining in “Night Bus”. Siddiquian’s confrontation with Khosrow Shakibaei (in one of Shakibaei’s most memorable performances) is brilliant. In this film, Sediqian plays the role of a teenager who has to transport a group of Iraqi prisoners from Abadan to Mahshahr.

The key point of Sediqian’s performance is that he can portray both the strength of a fighting force and the fragility of a teenager who has grown up earlier than usual. The nomination of Crystal Simorgh as the best supporting actor in the Fajr Film Festival, the nomination of the statue of the best supporting actor in the Iranian Cinema Festival, and the nomination of the statue of Hafez as the best actor in the Hafez Festival were the rewards of Siddiquian’s brilliance in “Night Bus”.

Unwanted (Barzo Niknejad, 1392)

Unfortunately, the good movie “Unwanted” was not noticed as much as it deserved, and for this reason, the good acting of Siddiquian was less seen. Siddigian has the main role of “Unwanted” and played the role of a cleric. The key point here is the filmmaker’s strategy. We are not supposed to recognize this character as a cleric during the film. He is supposed to play the role of an ordinary and empathetic person who travels and likes to know the surrounding community more.

Considering that an important part of the movie takes place inside a car and taking into account the fact that Rouhani “Unwanted” is supposed to be a calm character, again (like “Night Bus”) and sometimes innocent, Seddigian has a difficult task ahead of him. But he was able to successfully create a believable student.

The Mother of the Atomic Heart (Ali Ahmadzadeh, 2014)

Ahmadzadeh’s films (which have generally faced problems for public screening) show an image of Iran’s young generation that is rarely seen in other films of Iranian cinema. The youths of Ahmadzadeh’s works have reached a kind of freedom after the rebellion. The happiness and comfort of these young people seems to be a reaction to living in a tense society. Siddiquian played the role of one of these young people in “Mother of the Atomic Heart” and managed to create a believable and funny image of a happy young man.

The story of Nimroz (Mohammad Hossein Mahdovian, 2015)

Siddiquian played one of his most different roles in the important political thriller Mohammad Hossein Mahdovian He acted and because of this role, he was once again nominated to receive the Crystal Simorgh of Fajr Film Festival (this time in the field of Best Actor). This time, there is not much news about the fragility and youthful behavior of Siddiquian’s previous important roles. The failed romantic relationship of this film has a tragic side, and at other times, Seddigian plays the role of a serious (and sometimes sullen) person in an acceptable manner with his controlled acting.

No. 17 Sohaila (Mahmoud Ghaffari, 2015)

Mehrdad Sediqian’s role in the compact but debatable film “Sahila No. 17” is a short but key role. He is supposed to once again play the role of a funny young man but, perhaps due to the shortness of the role, Siddiquian appears more energetic and dynamic than ever. Considering that Masoud in this film is a character who is supposed to be the wandering and conservative main character of the story (Sahila with a brilliant performance Zahra Davodunjad) and pull him out of his cocoon, the success of Siddiquian could mean the success of the entire film, and Siddiquian fulfills this task in the best possible way.

In this film, Sedigiyan has managed to create the most understanding of the character in our minds with the least dialogues and behaviors.

Lion Skin (Jamshid Mahmoudi, 1401-1402)

“Lion’s Skin” undoubtedly represents a new aspect of Siddiquian’s abilities. The character of Sadra in “Lion’s Skin” can be considered a combination of all the important roles played by Siddiquian until today. A character who is both a professional lover, fragile and scarred by an unfulfilled love. In addition to these characteristics, Sadra is both a pragmatic personality and, if he finds it, a rebel.

During the series, he should develop a deep friendship with a special character like Reza.Alireza Kamali) to establish, both to make us believe his deep spiritual wound completely and also to show himself as a strict and individualistic character like Naeem (Hadi Hijazifar) to prove Siddiquian’s great achievement in “Lion Skin” is that he succeeds in convincing all the mentioned characteristics.
