A Muslim became the Prime Minister of Scotland for the first time

According to Fars International News Agency, the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday elected Hamza Yusuf, the leader of the Scottish National Party, as the country’s prime minister to become the first Muslim to hold this position in Scotland.
He was born in 1985 in Glasgow to a Pakistani father and a Kenyan mother who immigrated to Scotland in 1960.
He has a degree in political science and in 2007 he obtained a master’s degree. He was a member of the Scottish Parliament in 2011 and 2016.
Since 2012, Hamza Youssef has worked in several ministerial posts in the Scottish government, and since 2018, he has been in the Cabinet as the Minister of Justice.
He also worked as the Minister of Health and Social Affairs in the Council of Ministers in May 2021.
