A possible lawsuit against Samsung due to the durability of foldable phones

A group of Polish customers are looking to sue Samsung over the durability of its foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip. According to reports, more than 1,100 customers of these devices have shared their complaints about Samsung’s support and repair services in a Facebook group, and most of them are not very happy.
Problems with Samsung foldable phones
According to the website SamMobilePolish customers of Samsung’s foldable phones have raised several issues. The first thing is that over time, the protective layer placed on the folding screen of the device is damaged and worn out. Second, according to some customers, Samsung repair centers are not very willing to accept their responsibilities, unless they are pressured through social networks.
Earlier this year, there were similar reports from customers in smaller markets such as the Netherlands who had similar problems with Samsung’s foldable phones. At that time, it was said that the repair centers of folding devices under warranty will carry out their repairs after several days and during this period no replacement will be provided by them.
Although Samsung has improved the durability of its foldable displays in the new generation, foldable panels are still more vulnerable than rigid displays with a glass coating.
A Samsung spokesperson in Poland explained that if the protective layer on top of the foldable display is detached or damaged, “we ask customers to immediately visit one of our authorized service centers and have it replaced free of charge during the warranty period.”

However, even customers who managed to get their flip phones repaired for free within the warranty period mentioned that the whole process left them with a very bad shopping experience. Also, some users, pointing out that the screen of these phones may be damaged again, announced that they are looking to sell them.
Considering these circumstances, it remains to be seen whether we will see a new class action lawsuit against Samsung in the future. Recently, another complaint was filed by users due to the delay in announcing the hacking of this company’s systems.
