A quarter of Russia’s gas exports to Turkey are paid in rubles

According to Fars International News Agency, in the bilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, it was agreed that 25% of the gas exported from Russia to Turkey would be paid in rubles (the national currency of Russia). .
In this meeting, Putin also appreciated Turkey’s role in reaching the agreement on the transfer of grain to Ukraine and expressed hope that this agreement led to the grain going to poor countries.
The Russian president also expressed hope that the “Akuyo” nuclear power plant in Turkey will be launched in 2023.
He added that Russia is ready to cooperate with Turkey in all fields and appreciated Ankara’s activity in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Putin said that Russian companies have received indications that it is possible to export their products through Turkey.
