A Samsung phone with a rollable display will probably arrive in 2025

This knowledgeable market source claims that the design of such a device is compatible with Samsung’s innovative technologies. At the K-Display 2022 event, Samsung presented prototypes of rolling displays, folding tablets, and products with interesting names such as “Flex G” and “Flex S” to give users a glimpse of their next-generation devices. Considering the history of this company, the move towards the development of phones with a rollable screen is not far from expected.

The company also showcased its displays at the SID 2023 event in the United States, among which was a 12.4-inch rollable panel. At the event, Samsung showcased a display panel that expanded from 49mm to 254.4mm.

As mentioned, the issue of borderless displays is also one of the things that is of great interest. The Korean website The Elec had previously published news about the collaboration between Samsung, LG and Apple to develop such displays. The goal of such panels is to develop bezel-less OLED displays. Providing a display with zero margins provides a different visual experience to users.

Apple has also registered a patent for the development of a device with a rollable display. According to previous reports, Apple is trying to launch a MacBook with a foldable display in 2026. Finally, it should be seen what devices Samsung and Apple will continue to develop.
