A Study of Iran-Russia Cooperation in Syria / The Peak of “Tehran” and “Moscow” Convergence – Mehr News Agency | Iran and world’s news

Mehr News Agency, International Group – Ramin Hossein Abadian: 2011 was the beginning of the Syrian crisis. The United States, led by the United States and supporting terrorism in Syria, thought they could overthrow the legitimate government in a very short period of time. Some Western officials have even announced that the Damascus government will be overthrown in a matter of days or weeks.

However, the entry of Syrian allies into the country changed the equation. The Islamic Republic of Iran, as the main ally and ally of Syria, from the very beginning of the crisis, keyed its role in this country. In fact, it was the discourse of Islamic resistance that led the Islamic Republic of Iran to enter Syria. Lebanon’s Hezbollah also fought against Takfiri terrorism on Syrian soil because of this discourse of the Islamic Resistance.

The Islamic Republic of Iran entered Syria because of the discourse of the Islamic Resistance and Russia because of the common interests with “Damascus” Russia, meanwhile, is one of the parties that entered the country alongside Syria’s allies. Russia’s entry into Syria was due to the common interests of “Moscow” and “Damascus”. In other words, it was these common interests that opened the door for the Russians to enter Syria. Of course, it should also be noted that the entry of the Russians into Syria took place at the official request of the Damascus government.

Therefore, contrary to what the United States, Western countries, and a number of Arab countries claim, Russia’s presence in Syria is completely legal and in accordance with international law. Since the Russians entered the country at the official request of the Syrian government, their presence there is legitimate under international law.

With the entry of Russia into Syria, the triangle of power in this country was completed. The cooperation of the Syrian resistance forces, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia in the fight against terrorism led to this powerful triangle achieving numerous field achievements against the American-Zionist axis. In fact, the power of the triangle has strongly challenged US-sponsored terrorists and other Western nations.

The strategy of “creating a rift between Tehran and Moscow” in the American and Western think tanks was designed and the responsibility for its implementation was assigned to the Zionist regime. In the meantime, the role of Lebanese Hezbollah as another pole of power in the fight against terrorism in Syria cannot be easily overlooked. Lebanon’s Hezbollah also participated alongside the Syrian resistance forces in the fight against Takfiri terrorists, and now, because of this participation, it has played an important and undeniable role in achieving field victories.

Regardless of what has been said, apart from the support of Syria’s main allies, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Hezbollah, Russia’s presence in Syria has also been influential over the years.

The link between the influence of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia in Syria has led to the activation of think tanks in the United States, Western countries, as well as in the Zionist regime. In these chambers of thought, the strategy of creating a rift between Tehran and Moscow was designed and the responsibility for its implementation was left to the Zionists.

A Study of Iran-Russia Cooperation in Syria / Peak of

The Zionists activated all their media and propaganda arms to carry out the mission entrusted to them by the American-Western think tanks. In the first place, Israeli officials suggested that Russia had reached an agreement with the United States to expel Iran from Syria. The Zionists have leveled the allegation that Russia is pressuring Iran to leave Syrian territory and in return is receiving concessions from the United States under previous agreements.

Another allegation made by the Zionists for sowing discord between Tehran and Moscow was that the coordination between the Iranian and Russian sides in the Syrian case was cut off and the two sides continued to play a role in this country separately and without coordination. However, if such a thing were true and the ranks of the allies in Syria were divided, there would be practically no defeat of terrorism in this country.

The Zionists tried hard to instill a rift between Iran and Russia in Syria by activating their media outlets and propaganda horns, but their arrow was stoned. Among the other suspicions that were raised in the Syrian scene and aimed at creating divisions between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia, we can mention the issue of Syrian reconstruction. The Zionist regime’s propaganda horns and media outlets instilled in the public opinion that Iran’s share in the reconstruction of Syria is very small and that the Russians have taken over the Syrian reconstruction market! However, the numerous visits of Iranian economic and industrial officials to Syria in recent weeks and the signing of major agreements on the reconstruction of this country put an end to all the rumors and suspicions raised by the Zionists.

The fact is that part of Russia’s interest lies in strengthening the geography of Iran and Syria. Therefore, it is clear that the Zionist regime’s propaganda to induce a dispute between Tehran and Moscow in the Syrian case is incorrect. Iran and Russia may have clashed tactically during the war on terrorism in Syria over the years, but the level of these occasional differences has never been raised to strategic differences.

Thus, despite all the rumors of a rift between Moscow and Tehran, the Syrian scene is one of the biggest scenes in which the peak of Tehran-Moscow cooperation has emerged over the years.
