A training workshop was held to deal with the smuggling of historical cultural objects

According to the report of Aria Heritage reporter, in this event, which was held this morning on Sunday, March 14, 1401, at the conference hall of the National Museum of Iran, the participants learned about the latest methods of dealing with and preventing the smuggling of historical works and objects by attending 5 workshops.
Amir Mohammad Parhamfar, deputy head of the country’s anti-trafficking of goods and currency, said in a speech at the event: I am especially grateful to the organizers of this event. Holding such events and workshops is very important. There is a place to pay more attention to this area from now on due to the developments that have occurred.
He continued by mentioning a historical example: When the Baath regime was overthrown in Iraq, all eyes were on the overthrow of Saddam, but after a few years they realized that this was not just the overthrow of a political regime, but a major part of historical properties and works. Ancient Iraq was looted by the invaders.
He added: This is the situation that we have in terms of the eyes of foreigners on the civilization of West Asia, and for every country there is a risk of such events, although, by the grace of God, such events have not happened in our country and, God willing, they will never happen again.
The deputy head of the country’s anti-trafficking of goods and currency added: We must pay special attention to the issue of smuggling of historical cultural artifacts and to deal with this phenomenon. This year, with the amendment of the law of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, he was recognized as one of the main members of the headquarters to fight against the smuggling of goods and currency, which can help prevent the smuggling of historical artifacts.
Perhamfer further added: “The biggest part of our concern is to discover the traces of smuggling and prevent illegal exit and smuggling. This issue is very important and we should increase our efforts in this regard.”
Sardar Mehri, the commander of the country’s cultural heritage protection unit, also welcomed the participants in this ceremony and mentioned the holding of these workshops as a positive event to combat the smuggling of historical objects and added: holding training workshops helps to strengthen the forces of the protection unit and makes them more familiar with each other. They are dealing with the smuggling of historical objects.
