According to the Mehr news agency, citing Waa Iraqi news agency, the office of the president of Iraq announced in a statement that Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid emphasized the importance of cooperation between Iraq and Iran in the field of energy and trade during the meeting of the Iranian delegation headed by Ali Bagheri.

According to this report, the President of Iraq hosted a delegation headed by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Keni.

In this meeting, the President of Iraq praised the positions of the Islamic Republic in supporting Iraq and emphasized the importance of coordination and cooperation between the two countries in areas of common interest.

Abdul Latif Rashid emphasized: The integration of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the countries of the region and the resumption of relations with Saudi Arabia is a positive factor for establishing security and peace.

He emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation in the field of energy and trade.

On the other hand, Iran’s deputy foreign minister for political affairs emphasized the importance of developing relations between the two countries and developing the perspective of cooperation in a way that serves the common interests of the two neighboring nations.

He said: Iraq and Iran have an outstanding history of joint cooperation. The two countries play a pivotal role in the region in establishing security and stability.

He thanked the president of Iraq for his position on strengthening the relations between the two countries and his strategic view on regional developments.

He also praised the positions of Jalal Talabani, the late president of Iraq.
